Finland, moi moi

April 18th, 2006, last modified April 23rd, 2006 (worufu)

Beware of the moose Thanks to the star alliance frequent traveller program we were able to spend one amazing weekend abroad. Destination Turku, the former capital of Finland.

After arriving at Helsinki airport we were brought straight to Turku (thank you Susu), where our friend was so kind to give us food and shelter for the whole stay (thank you again Susu). I don’t know where to start as we had so many nice experiences. Piiraka, Pulla, Lakka, Moominworld in Naantali, Finnish sauna, Turku Castle, frozen sea, just to name a view. Images say more than words so I like to invite you to take a look at the Finland album in the gallery (don’t miss the subalbums containing delicious looking and tasting food and some Finnish language/sign curiosities). Here is a short preview:

Great View Moomins Piiraka When the sea freezes Umlauts

Once again a very big KIITOS to Susu and her kind family. And not to forget about Charlie the brave warrior of SISU, fighting without any fear against all the rubber-monsters of this planet.

Kiitos, hei hei.

Carneval in Venice

February 27th, 2006, last modified April 18th, 2006 (worufu)

Yes… this year we had time… for Carneval in Venice! Luckily there was even time to explore another two Italian cities: Udine and Grado. And last but not least we could take a look at Carneval in Villach.

Visit the image gallery to see some extraordinary masks in Venice and enjoy the panorama from the Campanile tower. Weather was not so nice but Venice is always worth it.

Icy Austria

February 2nd, 2006, last modified April 18th, 2006 (worufu)

The last weeks it was constantly cold in central Europe and so it continues this week (and probably the next weeks too). Some minutes ago I decided to put some new images into the gallery to show you what it looks like having from -5 to -12?C over a longer period.

Red Bull Hangar 7

November 12th, 2005, last modified April 6th, 2006 (worufu)

Added images from a business trip to Salzburg. At the airport the Austrian company Red Bull is leasing out a nice conference room in a small tower made of glass which verges on the Hangar 7 which gives a home to several small Red Bull airplanes and some Formula 1 cars from the Red Bull racing team and last but not least one bar right below the roof, the Mayday bar which makes some of the best pilots crash and a nice restaurant.

The atmosphere is really exciting. If you like luxury this is the right place for you. You also should try out the messaging system in the table which encloses the tavern in the Mayday bar. Or leave your motto at the electronical comic guestbook at the bathroom.
