Akihabara News integration

February 1st, 2006, last modified April 7th, 2006 (worufu) 0 views

Some days ago a new Akihabara News service launched: http://www.akihabaranews.com/integration/

It allows you to embed the latest news from the high tech district (and Japan and other Asian countries) in your own website. There is also a utility which lets you configure many parameters (layout, content, language, etc.) within a few clicks and which automatically creates the needed html sourcecode.

Some other nice Akihabara News enhancements are still in the pipe, just waiting to pop up one day…

QR Codes

Even in Europe I have spotted some products marked with QR Codes. But when will those nice tags hit our multimedia world like they did already in Asia? QR Code encoding is no problem. There are plenty of applications out there. I also found some nice QR Code decoding apps out there but I am not done with it yet.

digiKam podcast

December 12th, 2005, last modified April 6th, 2006 (worufu) 1 views

While exploring the digikam homepage and the featurelist of my favourite gnu/linux kde image viewer application I found one interesting podcast show.

It's my first podcast I've ever listened to and I have to say that podcasts are nice media to distribute information (no copyright problems here). Basically a podcast is a simple mp3 file which you download to your pc (or device) and play back using your favourite audio application (I think the iPod software hides the technical details and gives you a nice interface). I am using amaroK - my favourite gnu/linux kde audio application.

Listen to the audio file and find out everything you want to know about digiKam.

Or visit the digikam homepage .

And hereby also announcing that there is a motion noteable which is the spread of more and more video(casts) on the web. Soon you'll find some interesting links here.
