Last week we finally were able to publish our latest project. Thanks to the trust of the customer we were able to create the full promotional range of products: The Logo, all the print products (business cards, writing paper, folders, etc.), and last but not least the website globeair.com.
It is all about a new airline starting from spring 2008 with bases in Central Europe. Don’t know the exact starting date yet but the homepage is now online which gives some information in advance. They start with two different types of airplanes. The Eclipse500 which is able to transport four passengers and the Grob spn (up to 9 passengers) which can even land on unpaved (grass) runways. I am really looking forward to see the planes taking off. Maybe we can provide some nice pictures some time.
Maybe in the meantime you would like to find out if you are a fractional or full airplane owner with the GlobeAir Indicator.

No. I am not gone. Just enjoyed holidays (one full week) including Christmas and New Year. But that also does not mean that I have been lazy those days. Expect to see some new web platform announced in the next couple of weeks (hopefully days). In the meantime you may want to check out our last company project speedcash.at (German language only). Still needs some polishing which will be done during this week and due to lateness of the mobile provider it still lacks MMS support which has to be expected right before March 2007.

Oh… now that I think of it. Did I already present to you our contribution page to our most favorite Cohen character Bruno (Funkyzeit mit Bruno)? See some clips to get an impression on how people from Austria really are.

I loved the simplephpblog and I will continue to use it on other pages for sure. The main feature I like is that it can run without any database behind, just simple filesystem storage is enough.

But because I like it fancy (not so much the layout, mostly when it comes to features) I decided to switch the blog system for my private blog (the webpage you are reading this very moment). WordPress is a very nice solution (PHP/MySQL). The themes are plain and even it has tons of features (and available plugins and extensions) the user interface (especially the frontend) is still very plain and easy to use. It’s character reminds me a bit of mozilla firefox. Besides the heavy features I really like the UTF-8 encoding which allows me to do this: 日本語�?��?��?��??。

The bad news is that I am just too lazy to migrate the old comments to the new system.

Besides the blog switch no other important news. Most of the time (sparetime) I am working on akihabara news or japaninfo.at. Oh… that reminds me of something… time to catch up and write down the latest japanese movies I have seen.

Lately the German/Japanese subpart takes shape more and more. Now all the ingredients are picked and the starters are already mixed together. Check the page from time to time to get surprised by the upcoming main course.

Even in Europe I have spotted some products marked with QR Codes. But when will those nice tags hit our multimedia world like they did already in Asia? QR Code encoding is no problem. There are plenty of applications out there. I also found some nice QR Code decoding apps out there but I am not done with it yet.

The last days I spent developing some pages dedicated to the Japanese language which I am actually learning since about one year. I'll try to publish some basic and interesting pages for non-Japanese-learners from time to time. The main work will be filling the dictionary with words I already learned. Based on that data there will be some kind of quiz too once it's finished.

At the moment I'll not integrate it into the main navigation as its content is not yet there where I want it to be. Oh, and as for now it's German only. Nevertheless it is prepared for multi-linguality but at the moment I do not have time for translations.
